The Madeleine Mini Bloomers

Hello! I keep forgetting to post this so here it is.

I've been wanting to sew a romper (or few) for this summer but I figured I should start with the shorts and once I had those down, graduate to the romper. So I started with these guys, and then I did non-pajama shorts, so I guess the romper is next!

These were incredibly easy and gave me the courage to keep going. For some reason I thought even PJ shorts might get somewhat complicated, but I was wrong. These are definitely beginner friendly. You can download the pattern for free here.

p.s. I have been obsessed with Martha Stewart's new fabric craft book. It is AMAZING! And is keeping me busy. Hopefully I'll be back with more from that.

  1. These are so cute! I want some for my honeymoon! Too bad the only sewing machine near by is at my future mother-in-law's house. That might be a little awkward.

  5. I recently bought a romper at Target and I wish I could sew myself another one because I love it! Its so comfortable and cute and you can do just about anything in it. And those bloomers are so cute and feminine. But I would look horrible in them!!

  7. These are adorable: I love how you did them in such a simple fabric, and so exciting to have the free pattern. I've been so busy in the kitchen I've barely been sewing but my favourite fabric store just got a new space so I'm going to get new fabric and get started this weekend.

  10. These are SO cute! I adore them. I've never really sewed before, despite my mothers gift of a sewing machine. I've just never learned, but these are so cute I might just try. Thank you for sharing.

  13. These are too cute! I was wondering what kind of sewing machine you would recommend, or at least which one you have. I'm looking to buy one. These bloomers would probably be my first project - I adore them!

  17. As a man, I can assure you all that these are, in fact, not cute, not adorable, and not the sort of thing that you would want to wear on a honeymoon (Ali Naomi, I'm looking at you) unless you want to come home from that honeymoon a divorced woman.
